the next step
Life is happening- in a big way all around me and within me and without me.
To experience life within community, oftentimes means feeling the same heights and depths as those around you. I know I’ve cried for friends, and danced in their revelry. I did it yesterday actually.
But this week, I’ve also felt others doing these things for me. It is a powerfully humbling experience- to be so entrenched in a life that is greater than your own solitary existence.
So i’m gettin’ hitched. Him and me, we are really doing it. And its for us, and its also for everyone. Because we wouldn’t be us, without all of those ridiculous and hospitable people who care for us.
And our partnership is a scary and enormous and vital one, a partnership unto itself, a family unto itself- but it is still one that will teach us to be better parts of this whole. A whole that is infused with a Spirit beyond us, but that dwells within us and over us.
So I’m going to give myself to one relationship that is greater than just me alone, which will in turn be a part of something greater than just us alone. This is the powerful swing of life in faith and community.
