living & loving in RVA
There are many people I interact with (even if only tangentially) who are not fans of Richmond. People who live here, work here, who typically have moved back here after college.
I don’t even try to bite my tongue anymore. I just tell them they are missing out, then probably commence some sort of roll of the eyes, and flick of the wrist.
This week is a particularly great week for the following (few of many) reasons:
101. An early morning, pre-work run down to the river. I live only 2 miles away from the river, and it is more than worth it to run down there, stand on the bridge for a few minutes, watch the Mighty James and run back.
102. Mamma Zu date night with my main man. Pizza, Wine, Broccoletti, Tirimisu, more Wine- all which are fall-off-your-barstool good.
103. Greek Festival. Even more so: Riding bikes to the Greek Festival. More wine! More baclava!
104. River Float down said Mighty James for a friends birthday.
105. Takeout from 8 1/2. Pretentious Pasta Carbonara from pretentious Italian chefs.
106. Great people, great communities of people.
107. Ellwoods pre-work shopping trip for fresh blueberries and bread.
108. Brunch brunch brunch. Last week was KubaKuba. What will be the choice this weekend?

I’ve said it before: but if you don’t love this city, you spend entirely too much time in your living room.
