It’s time for the mountains.
I think my body as much as my soul needs it. Just a couple days should do. Breathe in, breathe out.
The past six months has been a time of transition, new commitments, new priorities, new schedules, new disciplines. Good and good and more good. But exhausting.
Armed with The Maytrees under my right arm, and a bottle of bourbon in the other, (and perhaps a yoga mat under my feet), I’m heading to the mountains for a few days. No, this will not be an adventure. Nor will it be backwoodsy. It will be a god-blessed place of peace, with a deck and trees and rolling hills and the haunting voice of Gillian Welch.
And quiet. Oh, the quiet.
